CDS Asbestos Services
A qualified CDS asbestos inspector will assess the building for the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) through visual inspection and sampling. This step is crucial to identify the location and extent of asbestos contamination.
- Before any removal work begins, the area must be properly contained to prevent the spread of asbestos fibers.
- Workers will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, disposable coveralls, gloves, and eye protection, to minimize exposure.
- CDS trained asbestos removal professionals use specialised techniques and equipment to safely remove asbestos-containing materials without releasing fibers into the air.
- Wet removal methods and HEPA-filtered vacuums are commonly used to minimize dust and fiber release.
- Once removed, the asbestos-containing materials are carefully sealed and packaged for disposal at designated hazardous waste facilities.
- Air monitoring is conducted throughout the removal process to ensure that asbestos fiber levels remain within safe limits.
- Clearance testing is performed after removal to verify that the area is safe for reoccupation.
- Comprehensive documentation of the removal process, including inspection reports, work plans, and waste disposal records, is essential for regulatory compliance and liability protection.
